Guests enjoying Abthorpe Church’s Harvest Supper.
This year’s Abthorpe Harvest Supper had a Spanish theme. Over 35 diners enjoyed a wonderful meal that took place in The Old School – our ancient but recently refurbished village hall.
The main course consisted of a choice between chicken paella – a rice based dish that originated in the Valencia Region – and Catalan beef. This was followed by a dessert of churros – a fried-dough pastry accompanied by a chocolate sauce, that is traditional throughout the Iberian Peninsula. And of course there was wine to continue the Spanish theme.
The supper was organised by our Parochial Church Council in aid of church funds. Allison Robbins the Treasurer reported a profit of £484 and she thanked everyone for their generosity.
