Towcester Lions Support Dyslexia Awareness Week
Dyslexia affects almost 69,000 people in the County of Northamptonshire. Northamptonshire Dyslexia Association (NDA) supports the needs of anyone with dyslexia and those connected with them; families and children and young people, schools and teachers, adults, and employers and organisations. They aim to raise awareness of the issues and needs of those with the disability, to enable all dyslexics to participate fully in learning and work.
Towcester and District Lions Club are supporting NDA during Dyslexia Awareness Week. A display and information stand at Towcester Branch of Waitrose has enabled members of the public learn about dyslexia. The stories of great achievements of family members who have overcome the problems of diagnosis and lack of understanding and have gone on to find academic and career success is inspiring.
