with basic gardening jobs? Garden Buddies is a Big Lottery funded project with a further five years of funding having recently been awarded. We offer basic gardening services to elderly or disabled people in the community who have no other source of help, enabling them to enjoy and maintain their gardens. This community project aims to offer support to the most needy while also providing a positive focus for volunteers of all abilities.
The idea came about as a result of a large number of gardening-related enquiries we received at the volunteer centre, highlighting the need for a service like this in South Northamptonshire. Following a successful bid to the Reaching Communities Big Lottery Fund, Garden Buddies initially burst into bloom in May 2012.
If you like gardening and would like to join a dedicated team of volunteers, then this may be for you. Our volunteers provide a valuable service and in return benefit from meeting new people, learning new skills, gaining experience/skills to add to their CV or just being part of a team.
Our Garden Buddies project worker will be on hand to supervise every session. You can give as little time or as much as you want and volunteers can opt for lighter duties if preferred. All tools and training will be provided.
If you are interested in volunteering with us please call Barry on 01327 358264 for a chat or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
