October 2018 will see the launch of the specialist perinatal mental health service in Northamptonshire, a partnership service between Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), Nene CCG and Corby CCG. And closely supported by Children’s Services at the local authority and the maternity departments at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The aim of the service is to provide specialist support for women in Northamptonshire who are at risk of, or who are experiencing severe mental health conditions during pregnancy and during the first year following delivery.
To celebrate the launch of our new service we are inviting mothers in Northamptonshire who have experienced severe mental health conditions during pregnancy and during the first year following delivery to come along to our conference on Thursday 4 October 2018, 9.30am to 4.30pm at the Park Inn in Northampton.
The day will provide an opportunity to hear all about the service and what it will entail, presentations from key note speakers as well as finding out more about how you can be involved in service developments.
This is an expansion of the pilot scheme led by NHFT and will work closely with maternity, community, primary care and children’s services to ensure women get the right support at the right time in a place suitable for them. This can be in antenatal clinics, children’s centres or in their homes.
