Silverstone’s Oscar Harris wins area title at Rising Stars SuperShow
Eleven-year-old Harris was triumphant in a five-round fight to win his World Traditional Kickboxing Association 52kg category, with the referee stopping the fight in the fourth round.
Harris, who fights for Nak Soo Muay Thai and trains at the BST gym in Northampton, has been training for a number of years and is making a name for himself in this very competitive sport.
SuperShow is one of the most prestigious events for Junior Muay Thai Fighters to appear on, being junior amateur rules. This means that they are allowed to punch, kick and knee to the body, arms and legs but no head shots are allowed.
Jon Graham, who is Harris’s coach at Nak Soo, said “I train Oscar every week and have been watching his development over a number of years. On the day, Oscar fought a perfect fight and dominated every round to win the bout. Oscar has the ability to go all the way and, with Muay Thai becoming an Olympic sport in 2024, you never know!”
Harris also wanted to thank his coach Jon Graham, the Nak Soo and BST Northampton fight teams for their continued support and the promotion team at SuperShow for continuing to match him on their events.
