Hovercraft Racing at Towcester - Round 5: 20/21 July 2019.
This weekend The Chilterns Branch of the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain (HCGB) will be once again be hosting the second of two visits to the Towcester venue this month.
This time around the course will remain the same as it was set up for two weeks ago, with the possibility of some minor changes.
For those of you that attended just under two weeks ago, you will be pleased to know that the accident on Sunday that required a Colt driver (aged 11-13) to be taken to hospital had a happy ending. Georgia Olner (number 51) rolled the craft going into the turn on the far side of the course and had a suspected spinal injury. She was released on the Monday following scans.
There will be 6 different formula's represented, right though from the Junior Colts (aged 11-13) to the F1 category.
With the dog racing now cancelled for the foreseeable future, the race programme will be run as standard. This will allow our normal paddocks breaks, which if the programme is running to schedule the public will be allowed to enter the paddock for a close up look at the craft.
Programme:
- Saturday: Practice starts at 10.00hrs. Racing starts at 13.00hrs
- Sunday: Practice starts at 9.30hrs. Racing starts at 11.30hrs
Entry is via the main gate at the front entrance off the A5.
Entry fee: £5 per person or £15 per car (based on 4 people sharing) under 16's free.
