Westcliff 68 - 10 Towcestrians
Towcestrians returned to action this weekend after weather disruption meant a three week break from League action, and faced a tough away fixture at Westcliff, the Southend based outfit, currently fifth in the league and it was a ten try blitzing from the home side to keep Tows rooted at the foot of this tough division.

Tows had a decent amount of territory and possession but they were taught a lesson in finishing, their mistakes leading to four tries being run back at them from deep, the fourth being scored by their impressive 19 year old scrum half, Jake Spivey, who relieved Tows no. 9 Ronnie Speakman of the ball at the base of a scrum to run in from his own half for his hat-trick try and Westcliffs bonus point try, they had time to add a fifth before half time and with all converted the game was effectively over, Tows playing for pride alone had a sole James Falvey penalty to show for their efforts.

With Westcliff now looking to run everything two tries soon followed, Tows struggling to cope with the pace and precision of the home side and a number of injuries, it was Joe Chambers who gave Tows the bright spot of the afternoon running in an interception try, Falvey converting, but Peter Gowler's yellow card saw the home add three more tries before the end and only the last going unconverted.

Tows now face much more local opposition in the Semi-Final of the Alliance Cup on Wednesday night against Bugbrooke.

Tows 2nd XV fared far better than the 1's, a rare Pepe Nanci Hat-trick sending them on their way to a comprehensive 36 - 0 victory against Old Halesonians in the league, other tries from Adam Wilkinson, Rob Lees and Eugene Baxter, Cam Young adding two conversions with Mark Yeates a third.
