Blakesley & District Agricultural Society has been in existence for well over 100 years and the Blakesley Show is held on the first Saturday in August every year. The 2018 show on 4th August 2018 will be the 134th for the Society.
Blakesley & District Agricultural Society has been in existence for well over 100 years and the Blakesley Show is held on the first Saturday in August every year. The 2018 show on 4th August 2018 will be the 134th for the Society.
A representative speaking to AboutMyArea/NN12 said, "This year the Show will once again be held at Blakesley Heath Farm, Maidford, NN12 8HN.
"We are very grateful to the Hopewell family for allowing us to use the 100 acre site which proved to be so successful for the last two years. We are also grateful for the access and exit routes provided by John Upson and George Mayo.
"The Show is a traditional rural show with around 65 showing classes for cattle and sheep, 70 horse classes and a small section for roots and corn exhibits together with a gymkhana which is always well supported by young riders. The Show has a growing number of Trade Exhibitors and attracts around 3,500 visitors every year.
"The Show is organised by an active committee and supported by around 300 members who are also invited to attend an annual farm walk. See the news page for more information
"The Show is open from 8.00 to 5.00 and as well as the livestock and horse and pony exhibits there are numerous other attractions.
"This year the main ring attraction will be Kangaroo Kid Quad Bike Stunt Show.We will also have the Grand Parade and a display of vintage farm machinery together with the Towcester YFU entertainment which is different every year and always provides an entertaining spectacle.
"Entry to the Show is £12 for adults; £5 for 8 to 16 yrs and free for under 8´s. Alternatively a £25 Family ticket is available which admits two adults and up to three children. On-site parking is included in the entry price."
