Easy Access

Easy Biscuits

Recipe of the Week

Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

250g plain flour, sieved
125g softened butter
125g caster sugar
1 organic free range egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla essence



Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C (gas mark 5).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugar and vanilla essence together until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually beat the egg into the mixture.
  4. Add the flour to the bowl and mix with the other ingredients until you have a firm ball of dough.
  5. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until it is ½ cm thick and then cut out shapes with a cookie cutter.
  6. Place the biscuit shapes onto a greased baking tray and bake in the centre of the oven for 10-15 minutes until the biscuits are golden.
  7. Once the biscuits have cooled on a wire rack they can be decorated with icing
