“Come and enjoy a fun evening of quizzing. Bring a team or join a table on the night.”
That was the message on a leaflet that was circulated throughout the parish. And come they did!
Lynn Neasham the Old School Treasurer reports that an amazing 75 people – including the quiz master – turned up for a most enjoyable Saturday evening. Roger Tolson with his stentorian, never fading loud voice, set and asked all the questions and villagers did their best to answer them.
During the interval bangers and mash accompanied by peas and rich onion gravy were served by a team of willing helpers. Lynn reported afterwards that a profit of £1,025.42 was made that will go towards the running costs and maintenance of our village hall known as The Old School.
