Around three years ago, Mrs Angela Cundale from Silverstone went on holiday to Kenya with a view to meeting and sponsoring children from Watamu, near Malindi.
Inspired by her visit and unable to choose amongst so many deserving children, she made the decision to start a major fundraising effort to build a school for all the village children. Since then, Angela has raised thousands of pounds for the school and continues to do so.
The first classrooms are now complete and the school, named The Silverstone Academy, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Mrs Cundale. The Silverstone School’s Federation is delighted to be a supporter of The Academy and is looking forward to a long and close association. This year’s gifts to Santa at the Friends Xmas Fayre will go to the children at The Academy in Keyna.
