With just over six weeks to go, entries are building up nicely for Towcester Mill Brewery’s first ever cycle sportive on Sunday May 26 2019.
The event, organised by LetsGoVelo, a cycle event management company with a niche involving breweries around the UK, is expected to attract up to 200 cyclists.
There are two distances, the Half Pint (35 miles) and the Full Pint (60 miles) with each rider who takes part receiving a bottle of Towcester Mill’s finest beer at the finish. Great food will be available before and after the event – a selection of gourmet burgers, hot dogs, breakfast baguettes as well as tea and coffee. John Evans, Director of Towcester Mill Brewery, said, “This is the first time we’ve hosted such an exciting sporting event from the brewery - it's ideal for us as we’re proud to promote a healthy consumption of beer with regular exercise.” Toby Fellows, who runs LetsGoVelo, added: “Great to see that we have already had a terrific response to this event which shows the level of enthusiasm for cycling in South Northants.
“Our aim is to make this a successful annual sportive and with the level of support we’ve had so far that’s looking like a real possibility.”
Entrants must book their place in advance.
