Dinner to celebrate 30 years of Group C racing at Silverstone to raise funds for Helen and Douglas House
To celebrate 30 years of Motor Racing with the Group C cars, which was one of the most thrilling times in motorsport history, a dinner is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on Tuesday 28th February, 2012 with kind permission of the British Racing Drivers Club.
The dinner will include a display of Group C cars in their original livery, memorabilia and film footage together with guests from the Group C days, including Ross Brawn, Mark Blundell, David Brabham, Jurgen Barth, Tony Southgate, Gordon Spice and many more. These will be joined by many from the current Group C Racing Series.
Host for the dinner is to be John Hindhaugh, commentator for the Le Mans Series and a true icon in the current world of motorsport.
The dinner will be concluded with a Charity Auction held by Jonathan Humbert from JP Humbert Auctioneers Ltd who will have pleasure in auctioning a host of items to include Group C memorabilia, driving experiences and personally signed books from the Group C days.
All proceeds from the evening will be given to Helen & Douglas Hospice our local hospice for Children and Young People who also celebrate their 30th Anniversary. It is with great pleasure that Sister Francis, founder of Helen & Douglas House and the Children’s Hospice movement will be joining the dinner too.
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet with some real stars from motorsport here in Silverstone and enjoy the privilege and history of the BRDC Clubhouse.
Tickets to the event, priced at £85.00 to include a Champagne Reception on arrival and a four course dinner are still available but only a limited number due to a high level of interest. Tickets can be obtained from Odette Dawkins.
