Assistant Principal of Vocational Education, Marguerite Bowden said:

“Many adults feel that there are a number of barriers preventing them from returning to education such as family and work commitments, travelling or cost. We would like to show the local community that there is provision for flexible, affordable training right on their doorstep. Our classrooms are professional workshops, salons, a training kitchen and restaurant enabling people to learn in realistic working environments gaining the skills and experience needed for industry. These courses will allow people to come and give it a go with no obligation. ”

The college has run a number of successful programmes for adult learners during 2013 including computer workshops for the local U3A group,  a taster day for Magna Residents, a comprehensive programme of short courses aimed at getting people back into work and training for the staff of numerous local businesses helping them to develop their professional skills or gain industry standard accreditations.
