Dunkery Beacon in Wootton Courtenay near Dunster won the silver accolade in the Restaurant/Bistro of the Year category and bronze in the Small Hotel/Boutique Accommodation of the Year category.
Jane Bradley, who runs the award-winning Dunkery Beacon together with her husband, John, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have picked up silver and bronze awards. We are extremely proud of our restaurant and accommodation facilities we provide so to have these recognised is brilliant.
“We’d like to say a huge congratulations to all of the other winners from the night too.”
The awards were presented at a black tie dinner in the Lansdown Suite at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol on February 2.
There were 602 entries made across the South West and a team of judges undertook a record 380 visits. A hundred-and-three of the finalists have also been nominated as the South West representatives in the national VisitEngland awards.
Robin Barker, Director of Services for Tourism, said: “Excellence is elusive. It takes creativity, commitment, investment, and persistence to achieve. Standards have to be maintained for every guest, in all situations, at all hours of every day. Achieving excellence is one thing, maintaining it in a world of ever-rising expectations is an even greater challenge. So well done to all of this year’s winners – you are at the cutting edge of this region’s top industry and are genuine business icons.”
Jane has a background in hospitality and worked in the wine industry for more than 16 years.
