Andy returns to perform at Minehead pub

MINEHEAD music lovers can see an acoustic musician perform live when he returns to a pub in the area next month (June 2022).
Professional singer and guitarist Andy Doran will be playing at The Old Ship Aground on Quay Street on Saturday, June 4 from 12noon.
Rosie Gubb, General Manager at The Old Ship Aground, said: “Before the pandemic, Andy was a regular performer at the pub and he was a big hit with customers, so we’re thrilled to be welcoming him back to play once again.
“He’ll be playing a variety of classic and modern cover songs and there will certainly be something for everyone to enjoy. We hope lots of people come along and bring their friends and family too.”
The Old Ship Aground, which was built in 1922 and was formally known as The Pier Hotel, is an historic Edwardian pub located on the harbour in Minehead. It boasts views across the harbour and out onto the Quantocks and Wales.
The pub prides itself on its contemporary country dishes as well as traditional real ales and ciders. Summer evenings can be spent in its outside area or during colder months visitors can warm up in front of the roaring fire.
The Old Ship Aground also provides accommodation. All 12 rooms are individually decorated and include freeview television, en-suite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities.
Entry to the event is free and food and drinks can be purchased from the bar.
Andy sings and plays acoustic guitar at pubs, clubs, functions, restaurants and hotel lounges across the South West. His repertoire includes a variety of classic and modern cover tracks.
He has toured with the late, great Cornish comedian, Jethro, and has performed for Prince Charles.
He said: “The Old Ship Aground is a fantastic venue for live music and I am thrilled to be returning to play there again. I have been working hard to expand my set list and I welcome any requests on the day too.”
