AAA Training Solutions finalist in two major awards

Published: 16th August 2019 17:08

A LEADING national training provider based in Somerset is celebrating after hearing it has been selected as a finalist in not one but two major regional business awards (August 2019).

AAA Training Solutions in Weston-super-Mare has seen-off competition from hundreds of other entries to be named as finalists in the Innovation and Start-up award categories for the South West Business Leader Awards.

David Grant, AAA’s CEO said: “We’re delighted with this news and very proud to receive the recognition, which is a testament to all the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team here.

“We understand the award organisers, Business Leader Ltd, received more than 200 entries this year and that the competition was fierce, so we’re bowled over to have reached the final five in these two categories, and are now looking forward to finding out on September 26, at a ceremony hosted by Michael Portillo at Ashton Gate, Bristol, if we’ve scooped the top spot in each too.”

AAA Training began trading after the management team identified an opportunity to deliver apprenticeships and training in the care sector. It specialises in apprenticeship management and assisting businesses who are subject to the levy.

“Many health and social care services struggle to recruit, retain and develop staff to meet the needs of the people they care for. There is a critical skills gap in the sector, with a reported 110,000 unfilled vacancies. With an ageing population and increasing numbers living with chronic or multiple conditions, the demand for trained, qualified carers will increase.

“Apprenticeships are critical to the sector and can help to attract new entrants and upskill existing staff with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to ensure high-quality, person-centred care. However, conventional training methods don’t suit care workers working shifts and have created a barrier to learning. We’ve developed an innovative blended learning curriculum, embracing and using cutting edge technology to overcome this barrier.

“Using this technology has allowed us to engage with a wider audience, transform the Apprentice’s experience and enables us to provide high quality bespoke training. Developing this technology has helped us to grow our business from 16 Apprentices (April 2018) to more than 800 today. It’s these results that have impressed the award judges and have gained us a finalist placing.”

During the past 12 months, AAA’s workforce has grown from five to 42 staff.

“We’re on the ESFA’s Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) and organisations trust us to deliver their apprenticeships and the high-quality training they need at all levels for their staff. We work closely with clients to provide programmes specifically meeting their needs and assisting them in upskilling their existing workforce.

“Despite all the myths surrounding them, apprenticeships aren’t just for school leavers seeking a route into employment. They are in fact potentially invaluable to all staff within a business or organisation too.

“We also work closely with national care providers to deliver high quality Regulated Qualification Frameworks (RQF) training and assessments.”

Its experienced nationwide team of trainers and assessors deliver a comprehensive range of courses that run from Level 2 through to Level 5.

Understanding that different providers have varying requirements, the team works with each individually to ensure the most appropriate training solutions are delivered.

This may include an induction programme, which can be used towards a RQF qualification and covers all mandatory training to ensure compliance; training for in-house trainers, so they can deliver the modules themselves; an Apprenticeship Programme specifically designed to allow the reclaiming of the Apprenticeship Levy and access further funding if required, as well as ensuring Care Quality Commission (CQC) with support from AAA Training Solutions’ RQF assessors.

It also ensures organisations fully benefit from the Apprenticeship Levy and offers training and qualifications in Leadership and Management.
