RUMWELL Farm Shop is helping hold a fundraising and awareness raising event this Friday, April 5 in aid of its Charity of the Year (2024).
Mind in Somerset will be onsite at the award-winning farm shop on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington from 10am-4pm during the Wear it Blue day.
Partner Anne Mitchell explains: “We’re delighted to have our Charity of the Year, Mind in Somerset, here this Friday. They will have a stall handing out information about all they do and will also have collection tins so people can donate any loose change they may have.
“They’ll be selling raffle tickets to win a wonderful Rumwell hamper featuring some of our famous Made at Rumwell products. We’ll also have some special blue iced biscuits we’ll be selling on the day to help fundraise for the charity too and a children’s quiz trail. The team will be wearing something blue on the day to raise funds as well. Each member involved will be donating £2 to wear their blue item.
“Mind in Somerset does wonderful work helping to deliver services to people throughout Somerset and with mental health a key issue impacting on our farming community; it’s a very relatable charity for us to be supporting.”
Mind in Somerset works across the county to provide support and resources for people experiencing mental health challenges. It offers a range of services, including counselling, advocacy, and community outreach.
Its goal is to promote mental well-being, raise awareness, and reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues. It also engages in various community initiatives and events to foster a supportive environment.
Alison Baker, Corporate Partnerships Co-ordinator with Mind in Somerset says: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Rumwell Farm Shop as their Charity of the Year in 2024. As a family business that is so rooted in the Somerset community, we know that it will be a great opportunity, not only to raise funds for our charity, but also to raise awareness of the work that we do to support those experiencing mental health challenges across the county.”
