PEOPLE from Cardiff are being encouraged to send Christmas cards to elderly and vulnerable people being supported by a Welsh care provider this festive season (December, 2019).
ISS Healthcare has launched a Christmas card appeal for its service users who may not receive cards from family or friends at this time of year.
Neil Griffiths, Regional Manager at ISS Healthcare, which has offices at Springmeadow Business Park, said: “This time of year can be very lonely for the elderly and vulnerable, especially if they do not have much family or many friends living nearby, which is why we’re calling on the kind people of Wales to send some festive cheer this year with a Christmas card.
“We’re asking people to send in Christmas cards full of seasonal best wishes that we can distribute among our service users and we’re sure they will really brighten their day.”
Any cards can be posted to ISS Healthcare Ltd, Unit 1, Pembroke House, Springmeadow Business Park, Rumney, Cardiff, CF3 2ES. The deadline for us to receive cards in order for them to be distributed to service users is Friday, December 20.
Neil added: “At this time of year loneliness can be worse than ever for many elderly and vulnerable people. Due to the weather and darker evenings, many people can’t get out to see friends, family or neighbours and some simply do not have any, so to receive a Christmas card can be very special for them.
“We do our upmost to help battle social isolation within our service users, which is why we have launched the appeal, as we believe emotional care is just as important as the physical.”
ISS Healthcare provides care support to thousands of people, with services commissioned through authorities in the area or purchased privately by individual service users or their families.
