Lowest Unique Bid Auction – The Strategy

Published: 21st August 2009 19:51
It seems that this commerce entertainment game is all about a guess, with no skills needed from the player side. However, tracking and monitoring those sites over a year with reasonable assumptions made, show that it is as sophisticated as playing and winning a chess.
If you are a real player, and not a "one touch visitor" who has just happened to try and win a cheap laptop, you may have developed your own strategy, lead by your intuition and past experience.

This short article is the first of a few to come, that will analyze the common tactics used by a regular player.
It should be emphasized that all the lowest unique bid sites are not providing you with tools and twists to improve your capabilities and gaming experience.
Therefore we should look at your first entry into "a table" (each product arena may be called from now "a table"). At this point you see the amount of bids already been placed and multiply it by 1 penny. This is "base 1". Second, you should map your competitor's profile and see how many unique players are gaming, assuming that each of them has its own strategy.

Assuming that there are 100 bids, your first base is 1 pound.
Assuming that these 100 are combined with 80 one shot bidders and 10 players that put more than one bid, you know that you are competing now against those 10, that have the same first base as yours.
Assuming again, that the site does not offer any other tool except closing on the lowest unique bid, you should put two bids that determine your range.
Put one slightly above the first base, and place the second base in 1/3 of the difference between the first base and the maximum bid.

Now, sit back for several minutes and look carefully at your 10 real competitors' moves.
Watch if any other real player enters the arena after you, and include him in your radar!
After a short time, you can see your ranking of your two bids - the first base and the second.

From now on, periodically, you are closing on others by narrowing the difference between the two bases, being aware all the time to see if your ranking goes up or that you are out of the game. Assuming that you are still in the completion, now you are focusing only on the two leading players, narrowing the gap between the bases. If, by doing that, you are still in shape and not ranked lower that before, you have your chances to win.
The end of the game - when one of you, the three leaders, has narrowed his gaps quicker.
This applies for the existing sites that provide you with no more than a table.

A new innovative site, qwikwin.co.uk, which is in its pre launch phase, has several innovations that may give a real player with the means to smartly use his strategy skills, along with the innovative benefit for the professional layer - the Buy Back option. You may win the money by playing on the product.
