Whittington F.C. Under 11 Lions unveiled a brand new kit this week in support of ‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer'.
The new kit has been donated in celebration of the life of Nicky Durant who sadly lost her battle with the disease earlier this year. Nicky's husband Mark is a qualified coach and assistant manager with the Lions and their twin sons, Oliver and Thomas, are both star players in the team.
Having already donated to the charity in Nicky's memory, the Club is also selling replicas of the shirt to parents and spectators to help raise funds for a further donation, as well as helping to publicise ‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer' as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Club Community Officer Steve Kirk said "Nicky was a very special lady who showed tremendous courage during her illness. The Durant family are very important members of our Club and we are extremely proud and privileged to help remember Nicky and support such a deserving charity, in such a positive way".
