What you will need:
Hard Boiled Eggs
Old Containers - margarine tubs work well
What to Do:
1)Once you have boiled your eggs fill the containers with just enough water so that the eggs will be fully submerged and add 1 tsp of vinegar to each container of water.
2)Add the several drops of food colouring to the water. The water will need to be fairly dark to colour the eggs effectively.
3)Wrap the eggs tightly with the cloth and then tie with the string. Place in the container for a few minutes.
4)Remove the eggs from the containers with a spoon and place on a plate or a covered work surface. Remove the string and cloth and allow to dry. You then have your Tie Dyed Eggs!
Once the eggs have dried you could then have some more fun by creating a speckled look. All you need is an old toothbrush and some acrylic paint. Dip the toothbrush head into the paint and then flick the brush over the egg. You can play around with lots of different colours and have some real fun with the kids. Just make sure your wearing some old clothes and you have covered where you are playing to avoid any mess!
