First things first give yourself the weekend off even if you are staying at home. If you were going away the laundry and the cleaning would have to wait so try to forget about it even though you are at home and have a relax and enjoy yourself! Invite a few friends around and enjoy spending some quality time together. If the weather is nice, fingers crossed, have a small garden party with tea and hot cross buns in celebration of it being Easter. AboutMyArea has a delicious recipe for you to try!

If you want to get out over the weekend why not go to the local park? You can go for a nice walk, a picnic or take the bikes. The fresh air will do you the world of good; work off the chocolate eggs and best of all its totally free!
There are also plenty of places to visit within your local area that don't require a long fraught drive. You will find most museums allow free admittance and the kids will have a great time while learning something too. For a chance to see the Easter bunny there are plenty of nature centres that you can visit and they usually charge a reasonable price to get in.
If the weather is no good this Easter the cinema is always a great option. Get the family together and go and watch a fun film. If you have students going with you make sure they remember their student I.D. to get in at a cheaper rate, every penny counts!
Churches will also be holding different events over the weekend. From services to Easter fayres there will be something on local to you which will be fun and won't cost the earth. Check out your local AboutMyArea site to see what is happening in your area.
We hope you have a great Easter Weekend and that you enjoy exploring your local area!
