Published: 5th April 2011 15:25

SBC logoIt's fun all the way for children this Easter with Stafford Borough Council's Get Out! programme.

Sports, games and seasonal celebrations make up a packed programme of activities running from Monday 11 April, to Monday 25 April.

Star:Track Athletics, football coaching, dance mats, tennis, a mobile skate park and all-day ‘Sports Of All Sorts' sports club are on offer across Stafford Borough, all supervised by qualified coaches.

Meanwhile, gymnastics, trampoline, swimming, basketball and table tennis plus games in the new, fully interactive H-Zone children's gym are available at Stafford Leisure Centre.

Swimming, sports, games and Wii challenge on the giant plasma with Active-8 sessions are on offer at Alleyne's Sports Centre in Stone, where children can have fun on the trampolines or have a go at walking on water in a giant hamster ball with the latest craze to hit the pool, Water Walkers.

Free swimming for children aged 16 and under is available at Stafford Leisure Centre from Monday to Friday between 11am and noon and 3pm and 3.55pm and at Alleyne's Sports Centre between 10am and 12 noon.

There will be St George's Day celebrations at Stafford's Ancient High House on Saturday 23 April, and ‘Find the Easter Chick' at Stafford Castle on Sunday 24 April. Both events feature fun activities for children including crafting sessions and run from 11am to 3pm, with free admission.

Pre-booking and parental consent is required for most activities.

Full details of venues, times and charges are included in the Get Out! Easter Holiday brochure which can be downloaded at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/getout.
