Phillips Bros have been established in the sawdust and wood shavings market since 1894. The Company was founded by Harry Phillips, who was originally a fish carrier in Billingsgate Fish Market. Demand for oak sawdust to smoke the fish introduced Harry to supplying sawdust as a sideline.

Progressing from here he supplied butchers shops with sawdust for their floors.

Surviving two world wars Phillips Bros has since passed through the generations from fathers to sons; with experience and know how growing with each generation.

Today Phillips Brothers (the fourth generation) produce sawdust, shavings and chopped straw used for bedding for poultry and horse bedding.

Their Ethos is very Local orientated; employing local people and community focused.

Phillips Brothers are proud to sponsor local charities as we are working towards making a difference in Suffolk.

They take pride in employing local people, working with local businesses and supporting local charitable organisations.

For 2015 they are providing their charitable support to French's Care Haven

The French's Care Haven is a totally focused rescue centre and safe home for unfortunate horses and ponies and any other animal found in need of rescue.

Jann Turner opened The French's Care Haven due to the overwhelming cases of neglect and abandonment of unwanted, abused or neglected horses.

The Haven takes referrals from other rescue centres and vets, or by helping the public.

Jo Williams Eventing

Phillips Brothers are proud to be sponsoring the local, Sudbury based, Jo Williams, professional Event Rider.

As Jo Williams is an experienced and well-respected competitor based in Groton, Suffolk this goes hand-in-hand with our ethos of working with local businesses to support the Suffolk community.

Through her positive attitude and hard work, Jo has helped produce some fantastic horses and had great success with riding for her owners at prestigious events across the UK.
