Anwar's curry is hot favourite from Sudbury to India
We've all heard of taking coals to Newcastle, but a Sudbury curry chef has just returned from a trip after successfully showcasing his curry to India.
Chef Anwar Hossein from Navaa Fine Fusion, Sudbury, Suffolk, was a member of the magnificent seven-man International Taste of Britain Curry Festival team which tours the world showcasing the best of the great British curry.
The 35-year-old Anwar Hossein has been with his British curry dishes on trips to Hyderabad, India.
The seven master chef delegation led by highly acclaimed Michelin Star chef Dominic Chapman, lays on a feast of favourite traditional English dishes and popular British curry dishes at the food festival in Hyderabad for locals to sample. And they have won fans all over the city of Hyderabad, whose delight in the coming together of tasting Great British Food.
Winner of a string of accolades, Chef Anwar is no stranger to creative challenges. “I have cooked in various competitions, but cooking British Curry in Hyderabad, India was a real challenge,” he said.
‘’We gave our diners the best of British Curry dishes such as Chicken Tikka Massala and Balti Dishes."
The Park Hyatt Hyderabad, regarded as City’s premier luxury hotel, was for host the festival.
Esther McVey MP, Minister for Employment, at a certificate presentation ceremony in London praises the efforts of British Curry Chefs for transforming the British Curry Business into a multi-billion pounds Industry.
The event organised by the trade magazine Curry Life, promotes the skills of British curry chefs abroad and introduces diners to the unique phenomenon of British curry, which has replaced fish and chips as the country’s favourite food.
