Sudbury hosts the Military Wives Choir, St. Peter’s
Sudbury will welcome the Military Wives Choir this Sunday. The ladies are delighted to be invited back to perform at St Peter’s Church, Sudbury supporting Seafarers UK after a very successful event in October last year.
Colchester Military Wives Choir was established in July 2012, since when it has earned a formidable reputation with a string of concerts including at the House of Commons ahead of Remembrance Day and a sell-out joint event with the Band of the Parachute Regiment at St Botolph’s Church in Colchester.
Subsequently the organizers of the Canadian Military Tattoo invited the choir, along with the Corps of Drums of the 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, to take part in the event that was staged at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario in front of 7,500 spectators.
Currently the choir has about 40 members made up of serving soldiers, mothers of soldiers and of course military wives. The choir is fortunate to have the dedication and talents of Musical Director Mrs Sally Leung and accompanist Mrs Sharon Tidbury. The choir is part of a growing network of Military Wives Choirs across the forces community worldwide.
