The war between Charles I and Parliament had profound effects on the town and Suffolk generally. Andrew Phillips (Lord Phillips of Sudbury) draws a picture of life here during this tragic era in the history of our island.
WHAT LIES BENEATH OUR FEET? - Peter Minter
Brickmaker Peter Minter of Bulmer Brick and Tile, who knows the answer from his own experience and studies, delves into the history of the Thames, sea creatures and volcanoes that have changed life in our area.
Subjects and speakers - 2015 programme (15th series) at Quay Theatre, Sudbury.
£7 an evening, no fees for speakers, all proceeds for the theatres.
Tickets for each of the six history evenings are £7, or £36 for all six held at fortnightly intervals at 7.30 pm with an extra gap of a week before the last talk because of Easter. None of the speakers get a fee and last year the series raised more than £4,000 to support the Quay.
