ACORN ANTIQUES
Victoria Wood's much loved sketch Acorn Antiques comes to the stage as a full blown musical!
Welcome to Manchesterford – a little town in the North of England, where their table tops are melamine, they have never heard of chip and pin and the little high street revolves around the well-loved antique shop, run by the voluptuous Miss Babs, her demure twin sister Miss Berta and the slightly amnesiac Mr Clifford, all looked after by the loveable old cleaner Mrs Overall.
However, Acorn Antiques is under threat as the Countess of Manchesterford has been forced to sell the whole High Street; the shop keepers either need to raise enough money to buy their businesses or sell out to more lucrative chains of coffee shops, tanning booths and thong emporiums.
With a twenty four hour wedding chapel, a battle with a tea tray and macaroons aplenty, this is one production you would be a few digestives short of a full packet to miss!
