Assington Mill, Sudbury, Suffolk, Willow Plant Supports
28 February 2016, 10am - 4.30pm
Cost: £85 inc. and home-made lunch, biscuits & cakes etc. Materials will be £16
On this one-day course you will learn standard basket-makers' weaves, as you create your own willow plant support.
We will use sturdy 6' uprights and substantial willow 'weavers' to ensure that your plant support is not only a thing of beauty, but is sturdy enough to grace your garden for several seasons.
We will weave in a spiral up your plant support, creating an attractive helter-skelter effect. You may find yourself needing to come back next time too, since you may have sweet peas, late-flowering clematis, French beans, squashes, all after some elegant support!
NB You will need to clear your car right out to accommodatie the plant support as it will be very sturdy. The size of your car will determine the height of the plant support, unless you have a roof rack.
