Take a Step into the Simon of Sudbury Story, 21st April 2018
Sudbury's next popular monthly guided walk is Saturday 21st April at 11am from the tourist information centre situated in the library.
Join the Sudbury story with a professional blue badge guide to show you around. This month we focus
on Simon of Sudbury to coincide with the Sudbury Heritage Pub Crawl Charity Challenge.
The walk will finish at St. Gregory's church where you will have the opportunity to view Simon's head and learn all about him. The Brewery Tap will be having an event in the evening with music from the 14th century and
also an opportunity to taste Mauldon's very latest beer called ‘The Bishop's Head".
Once upon a time... there was Thomas Gainsborough famous 18th century portrait artist, the silk
capital of the UK, the ancient water meadows and common lands, Princess Louise, 101 Dalmatians,
naval bunting and the wool industry, Boudicea - the Queen of the Iceni tribe, Charles Dickens - the
rotten borough and Simon of Sudbury - the Archbishop of Canterbury 1371 and there wasn't always
a happy ending.
