Racecourse on a high for Magpas Air Ambulance Beer Festival raceday

Huntingdon Racecourse is gearing up for its fastest growing event, the Magpas Air Ambulance Beer Festival race-day on Sunday, 4th November.

Visitors to the Cambridgeshire track can enjoy live music from Ompah bands and a wide selection of fine ales from Cambridge's Milton Brewery.

The day includes entertainment themed on the famous Oktoberfest, with free entry for visitors in traditional German clothing - lederhosen for the gents and dirndl for the ladies.

Adult tickets for Sunday are £15 in advance (£18 on the day), with accompanied children going free as usual.

Liam Johnson, General Manager, Huntingdon Racecourse, said:

"Our busy autumn programme of superb jump racing and family entertainment is well under way. It's always the busiest time of the year at Huntingdon Racecourse, and our Magpas Air Ambulance Beer Festival race-day is growing in popularity year after year."

Daryl Brown, Magpas Air Ambulance CEO, said:

"We're extremely grateful that Huntingdon Town Council and Huntingdon Racecourse chose Magpas Air Ambulance as their beneficiary charity at what looks to be a very exciting event. Last year we responded to a record number of incidents in the local area, the Magpas medical team were called to 834 seriously ill or injured patients in Cambridgeshire alone, saving many lives. However, Magpas Air Ambulance relies on generous public donations to continue saving lives in the community, and that's why events such as the Magpas Air Ambulance Raceday at Huntingdon Racecourse are so important."

Racing gets under way at 1.10pm, with gates open two hours earlier. The finale is at 3.55pm. The feature race is the Magpas Air Ambulance Novices' Chase.

Further information is available online at http://huntingdon.thejockeyclub.co.uk where tickets can be purchased or on 0844 579 3007. Accompanied under 18s are, as always at Huntingdon, given free entry. Young adults, aged 18 to 24 years, can get half-price admission by registering at RacePass18to24.co.uk to receive a free RacePass membership card.
