Greener Sudbury Spring into Action at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre, SudburyThe Greener Sudbury Volunteers sprang into action at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Sudbury earlier this month to replant the edible and wild beds directly outside of the Leisure Centre.
Tracey Loynds Chief Executive for the Trust said 'The Greener Sudbury Volunteers have done an amazing job again this year. Last summer children would come outside after their swim and nibble on a strawberry or mum would pick a handful of herbs to take home to use for tea. Our team will look forward to watering the plants all summer and enjoy watching the plants flower and grow.'
Janet Smith Greener Sudbury Volunteer said 'a well-wisher has kindly donated four currant bushes this week that we're looking to place next to the building so that your users can pick some berries as a tasty snack on their way home.'
Greener Sudbury group work all over Sudbury and surrounding areas, go on walks and are exploring other enjoyable activities for their 'grass roots' volunteers. To find out more about how you can get involved contact their new site: www.greenerSudbury.com
