Tickets selling fast for the fifth Lavenham Literary Festival
Tickets for the hugely popular Lavenham Literary Festival are selling fast, with some sessions close to being a sell-out.
However, it is not too late to book for the event on 17-19 November and to hear and meet speakers from the impressive line-up for the weekend.
The festival offers a fascinating contrast surrounding World War, with Clare Mulley presenting her latest book ‘The Women who flew for Hitler' on the Saturday and a panel of outstanding biographers coming together on the Sunday afternoon about THE British statesman Winston Churchill.
If crime fiction is your scene, bestselling author, Sophie Hannah - who has published two novels featuring the wonderful Hercule Poirot - will be entertaining the audience on Saturday afternoon, in the company of her mother, Adele Geras - herself a wonderfully popular author.
The Saturday afternoon also offers a ‘fringe event' and a rare opportunity to dip into ‘The Golden Age of Ocean Liners' with Greg Votolato, Course Director at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The popular radio presenter JP Devlin from Radio 4's Saturday Live programme will be in conversation with internationally famous author Erica James on Sunday morning at 11 am.
The popularity of the event has led the Committee to increase its size to 10 sessions, most of which will be held in Lavenham's impressive Village Hall. The event also boasts a sell-out Festival Dinner, with speaker Simon Barnes, and an all-day creative writing course run by the highly rated Bridget Holding of Wild Words.
The full programme can be found on www.lavenhamliteraryfestival.co.uk.
