Man arrested after Beyton incident

Police in Bury St Edmunds have arrested a man after a woman was admitted to hospital last night with serious head injuries.

Officers received a call at 10pm last night (Monday 13 November) to reports that a woman in her early 50s had sustained serious injuries in a property on Thurston Road in Beyton.

She was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance for treatment to her injuries and is currently in a critical condition.

A 55 year old man from Bury St Edmunds was arrested on suspicion of GBH last night and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.

A police scene is in place at the address on Thurston Road as enquiries into the incident continue.
