See The Rose Belles in bloom at Bar des Arts

PEOPLE from Guildford with a love for classical music can see The Rose Belles perform a variety of songs ranging from Dvorak to Take That at a bar in the town this month (September, 2015).
The Rose Belles will be at Bar des Arts, opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, on September 23 from 8pm.
Diana North, who sings in the group, said: “We are really looking forward to bringing our classical cabaret show to the bar. Some of the tunes we’ll be singing on the night include Dvorak’s ‘Song to the moon’ and we’ll also be mixing things up a bit with renditions of more well-known songs such as Take That’s ‘Rule the World’ and Kings of Leon’s ‘Someone Like You’.”
The Rose Belles includes singers Diana and Lizzie Hales who will be accompanied by pianists Sarah Quantrell and Karl Truscott, guitarist James Young and drummer Al Woollven.
When she’s not performing with The Rose Belles, Diana works as a singing and piano teacher, alongside being the Music for Schools Co-ordinator for The Music Works.
Lizzie has recently completed a M.Mus (Master of Music) degree specialising in conducting at the University of Surrey and also works as a singing and piano teacher.
Pianist Karl recently won the Peckham award for outstanding performance at the Farnham competitive Music Festival and regularly teaches piano.
Sarah studied for a BA in music at the University of Hull and went on to complete a Masters degree focusing on performance and musicology at the University of Surrey.
James studied electric guitar at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and currently manages his own showroom and workshop.
Drummer Al splits his time working as a drum tutor and working in e-commerce for a music shop. When he’s not working, he drums for two bands.
Sara Burks, Co-owner at Bar des Arts, said: “We are thrilled to have The Rose Belles bringing their beautiful show to our stage. It is a fantastic show, with styles ranging from opera to classical to musical theatre and pop, so there is really something for everyone.”
Entry to the evening will cost £7.50 per person, however booking is essential and can be done by calling the bar on 01483 453227.
Bar des Arts is a champagne and cocktail bar. A range of wine, beers, cocktails, champagne and soft drinks are available to purchase, along with meat or cheese platters. The bar hosts a variety of events and exhibitions, including live music, dance performances, open mic nights and many more.
The Rose Belles will be performing at Bar des Arts on Wednesday, September 23 from 8pm.
