Looks like I'm in trouble again...

Well Christmas is over and it has to be said, I'm looking decidedly porky! Or so Hu-Mum says, anyway - she keeps lifting me up and muttering under her breath about ‘diets' and ‘stricter about the cat food'.   What's a dog to do, with all those yummy Christmas leftovers?  And I consider it my doggy duty to clean up under the table after my boy...

Anyway, I was in the doghouse again (or would have been, if we had one!) over a tiny little issue with a few Advent calendars...

My boy had two, and as caring is sharing, I thought I'd help him out a bit, as we all know that too many sweeties are bad for children's teeth.  Can I help it if they were so yummy I had to eat them all? And explain to me this - why can humans eat things on the kitchen table and not dogs?  Hmmm?  And shredding cardboard is very good for my pent-up anxiety...

Needless to say, Hu-Mum didn't seem to approve of my helpfulness in this regard and seemed to think that chocolate is toxic to dogs  - to be honest I did have a bit of a belly ache for a day.  So when she scoured all of the local shops in the area for the last remaining advent calendar on sale (High School Musical, very jolly), for a couple of days I wasn't that interested.

And then it started again - you know what it's like - you pick up a little sent of chocolatey yumminess and then you just can't ignore it, it follows you about, calling to you "come up on the table, for just a little taste..."

Well, then the door slammed and I knew I was in trouble - my boy was in tears, there was lots of yelling and even threats to send me back to the breeder!!  It was only his admission that he did still love me a little bit that saved me!  (Although, if it came down to it, I'm sure my tried and tested ‘big eyes' routine would have won them over....)

Fuss about nothing , if you ask me...
