SUNDERLAND INTERFAITH FORUM
(Serving people of different faiths in the City of Sunderland)
What is it?
It is a forum for representatives of faith communities in the city of Sunderland, coming together to get to know each other, to share concerns and interests and to contribute to the life of the city and its people.
• Facilitating common understanding and developing good working relationships on local issues between faith communities in Sunderland
• Promoting community cohesion in Sunderland by developing good relations between people of different faiths in the city;
• Providing a strong and united voice on issues of mutual concern and interest for faith communities in the City
Who are our members?
Membership is open to people of different faiths who live or work in Sunderland and meetings are held three or four times a year.
Benefits of joining the group
Joining the group gives you a chance to meet others in the city who are interested in faith and social issues, and have your views heard and taken into account. The group also provides a route for people of faith to forward their views to the Sunderland Partnership, which is made up of the highest level decision makers in the City.
