Launched in 1984 as a result of an advertisement in the local press, the Newcastle Male Chorus has always adhered closely to the aims of our founders, to promote excellence in male voice singing and to foster good fellowship among members.
The Newcastle Male Chorus is now regarded as one of the North's premier male choirs. We rehearse from 7.15pm on most Wednesday evenings in Cragside Primary School, High Heaton, NE7 7EL.
Visitors to our practice sessions are always welcome. Just turn up, listen to the music and have a chat with any of the members. You are likely to be invited to have a cup of tea or coffee with us. New members are most welcome so why not call in to any practice session and see what you think.
If you wish to confirm that a practice session is occurring on a particular evening, please use our contact information and either email or telephone.
The choir were prize winners for four successive years in the Northern Male Voice Championships held at Huddersfield and also won first prize, first at Stockton then Morecambe, Harrogate, Eskdale and Derwentside Festivals. The choir have also achieved recent festival successes at The Ryton and later The Eskdale Festivals.
