Third seed Anna Fitzpatrick and qualifier Samantha Murray are through to the women's singles final at the AEGON GB Pro-Series in Sunderland.

Fitzpatrick scored an impressive victory over the top seed Justyna Jegiolka of Poland, winning 6-3, 0-6, 6-0.

photoThe Briton is the third seed and won in a very topsy turvy semi-final against the world No.389, saying afterwards,:

It's been my best result since coming back from injury."

The 21 year old from Sheffield will line up against English qualifier Samantha Murray in the final.

Murray is 19 and hails from Lincolnshire. She came through two rounds of qualifying and then beat second seed Tara Moore in round two before today's match against fourth seed Jocelyn Rae.

Having played five matches without the loss of a set Murray came up against Rae and continued her winning streak, triumphing 6-4, 6-4.

"I'd never played Joss before," said Murray afterwards, "I'm really pleased with the result and the way I played. I'm now looking forward to the final and getting my revenge on Anna."

The final is a repeat of the AEGON British Tour Taunton ladies' final from last week, a match that Fitzpatrick won to take the title.

Fitzpatrick, a fan of X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Sheffield United, has already taken the doubles title after the winning the final later on Saturday.

Teaming up with Amanda Elliott the pair won the battle of the top two seeds as they beat the No.1 seeds Tara Moore & Francesca Stephenson 6-2, 6-3.

It rounded off an excellent week for Elliott who celebrated her 21st birthday on Tuesday and added a title to her achievements, as the second seeds dropped only 12 games all week.
