Tows Battle To A Hard Fought Draw

Tows No. 8 Craig Holton makes a break for the line
The scoreline does not reflect the hard fought game which could have gone to either side, Tows started brightly and created the opening chance within five minutes but were unable to convert a relatively simple 3 on 1 opportunity, Nuneaton immediately applied pressure and won a penalty after Tows scrum failed to meet with the ref's approval, but refusing to be overawed by a team that finished 4th in this league last season Tows again pressurised the Nuneaton line, unable to get over for a score the first points came after an injury to influencial Tows back rower Jamie Warr, under pressure and a man down the home side conceded a penalty kick converted to go behind 0 - 3, Tows continued to press and running back a drop out Tows finished the half strongly
The 2nd Half saw Tows turn over a miss handled move from Nuneaton, Will Dunkley running back into the heart of the Nuns half only to be unfairly impeded, the Penalty award converted by Ben Roe, to tie the scores at 3 - 3
With the Tows scrum now in ascendance, a series of resets on the Nuneaton line eventually led to a Tows penalty, but it was miscued by Matt Yuill, Nuneaton had the last opportunity to win the game, ex-Gloucester player Rob Cook putting a penalty wide to see Tows collect a well earned 2 points

Tows 2nd XV went down 22-14 to Nuneaton 2nd's while the 3rd's agonisingly missed out on an opening league win against ON's 2nd XV 14-13, The Colts got their season up and running with a 41 point victory over Luton
