Rugby Mountain Bike Club Launches!

Published: 22nd October 2009 00:00

Rugby Mountain Bike Club Launches

Welcome to Rugby Mountain Bike Club. A brand new Club with the beginner and intermediate cyclist in mind.

Rugby mountain bike club  Rugby Mountain Bike Club

The Club will offer a wide and varied range of rides, to suit everyone. The aim will be to have a ride organised for Saturday, Sunday and during the week if possible. We will offer evening and night time rides, Day rides and even Camping rides.

With more people than ever taking up cycling, we hope to have an extensive membership, so you will always have someone to ride with.

Membership:

Membership fees are normally just £5.00 for the year, £9.00 for couples & £12.00 for families, but the club are offerring FREE MEMBERSHIP! if you join up before the end of October!

For this members will have the use of the dedicated web site with all the news and updates, on up and coming rides and events. Email and text updates. Discounts at two of the town's main bike retailers -Thorntons and Bikes Etc, and access to all Club rides and events, and free technical support on Club rides. For a membership form, or to discuss any membership qeuries, get in touch with Clark Cowell on Tel: 01788 521815 or 07749 297715.

Types Of Rides:

All of these rides will be mainly off road, taking in routes which we have planned and are familiar with. For the longer rides, we will have two bike guides one at the front and one at the rear. This ensures everyone stays in touch, so that the whole group can enjoy the ride together. We will ask members to pay a £2.00 subscription each time we ride, which will be used to help with the cost of runnung the Club and to buy any equipment we may need. For example, if we go out on a night ride there may be members who do not have a bright enough light so the Club could provide a loan light for them.

Most people go out on their bike and nearly always follow the same route, one which they are familiar with. By joining the Club, we will take you on different routes, that you probably had no idea about.

With the correct gear, we are looking to get out on our bikes as much as we can. Rain or shine, it doesn't matter. Where else can you get a couple of hours entertainment for just a few pounds?

If you are retired, why not join us for a midweek ride. We are happy to take you out anytime and what better way to keep fit and active?

Rides And Events:
We aim to have a variety of routes, which for the main part will be off road. Using bridleways and country tracks to explore the countryside. The Club caters for riders of all abilities, but most rides will suit the beginner and intermediate mountain biker.

Joining the Club means that you will always be riding with others, so that you don't have plan your own route and go out on your own.Mountain Bike Terrain

Once our membership numbers increase, we will try to organise rides for Saturday and Sunday. From April to September we will organise a midweek evening ride and during the summer, for those who are feeling bright and energetic there will be an early morning ride. What better way to get the day off to a start.

If you are retired or take a day off during the week, as long as we can get the numbers, we will arrange a midweek daytime ride.

Something For Everyone:

If you want to keep fit, see the countryside, make new friends, then join our Club. There truly is something for everyone. From Saturday & Sunday rides, to evening rides, daytime rides, exhilarating night time rides, camping rides and even the odd weekend away ride.

Everyone is welcome. It doesn't matter how old you are or your ability, join us now and "get on yer bike".

Remember, no matter if it's rain or shine we will always be happy to get out and show you some new cycle routes.
