Rugby Borough Council Announces SMART Programme For The Summer

SMART Summer Activities For Youngsters.
A whole host of events and activities are planned for this summer to keep Rugby youngsters' busy and active.
Rugby Borough Council's SMART programme of activities includes a range of arts and sports activities led by experienced coaches and artists.
Sport activities include trampolining, startrack athletics, sailing, table tennis, skiing, and a Modern Pentathlon Masterpiece week which includes fencing, swimming, running and art activities.
At Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, try your hand at Abstract art, fantasy, puppet making, modrock cow creations, environmental art and much more. There is also a free Olympic and Rugby Collection hunt around the museum and gallery running from 23 July to 28 August.

Cllr Heather Timms, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for economy, development and culture, said: "Our SMART summer activities are always incredibly popular and it looks as though this year's is no exception.
"With the London Olympics only a year away now it's appropriate that we're running a modern pentathlon event for the first time: the event was created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, who was inspired to start the modern Olympics while staying at Rugby School."
