Police in Rugby have reported an encouraging 33.7% fall in thefts of vehicles in three areas of Rugby.
Between April 1st, 2010 and December 24th, 2010, 50 vehicle thefts took place in Rugby Town Centre, Rugby Town North and Rugby Town West, compared to 75 during the same period in 2009.
These priority areas are geographic locations which have previously seen the highest number of incidents and crimes in Warwickshire.
Chief Inspector Bob Musgrove, Rugby Borough Commander said: "Whilst this reduction reflects our commitment towards tackling this issue, police and partner agencies in Rugby will continue to protect communities from harm by further reducing incidents of vehicle crime."
