Silver BMW stolen in burglary at Precival Road, Rugby
Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary that occurred in Percival Road, between 1pm and 3.50pm on Saturday 10 March during which a silver BMW 318i saloon was stolen.
The householders returned home in the afternoon to find burglars had broken in to the back of the property and stolen jewellery and the keys to the car before taking it from the driveway outside.
House to house enquiries indicate that at around 1.15pm on the same afternoon two people purporting to be window cleaners were knocking on doors in the road.
DC Mick Watkins said "These people may well be genuine, and if that is the case, we are keen to identify them as soon as possible so that they can be eliminated from our enquiries.
"One is described as a young white male, around 18 years old with blonde hair, wearing black tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
The second male is described as an older bald, stocky build white male aged 30-40 years old.
Both were wearing black gloves, and were in a black car and according to witnesses didn't appear to have any cleaning equipment. When asked, they said they had run out of business cards.
The local Safer Neighbourhood Team has increased patrols in the area and is encouraging residents to stay alert. "Please report any suspicious activity around your or your neighbours property immediately to the police" said DC Watkins.
Any witnesses to the burglary or anyone who can help identify the two men purporting to be window cleaners or the vehicle they were driving are please asked to contact DC 485 Mick Watkins at Rugby Police Station on 01788 853877 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
