National BikeSafe 2012 is a great day out for riders of all ages and experience, new riders, enthusiasts and families alike featuring everything from the chance to have your riding assessed through by riding out with police motorcyclists to demo bikes and trade stands for you to buy the latest accessories. Deputy Chief Constable David Griffen, ACPO Roads Policing Motorcycle Safety Lead said: "National BikeSafe aims to reduce motorcycle casualties across the UK by improving rider behaviour through further training and are open to riders of all ages regardless of how long they have been riding.

"The national event aims to promote the BikeSafe scheme to a wider audience by attracting riders from across the country over the two days at the end of April and gives them the chance to experience the scheme first hand with a view to returning home and booking on to an event hosted by their local Police force.

"The National BikeSafe Show is a true family event which offers a little something for enthusiasts of all ages and won't even hurt your wallet as its free to enter."

You can even take your first steps into the world of motorcycles thanks to the national Get On team who will be on hand all weekend offering the chance for anyone who has never ridden a motorcycle to experience the thrills for the first time.

The scheme aims to increase the number of new riders across the country by offering the chance try a motorcycle in a controlled environment and the team work closely with BikeSafe and are strong supporters of the National event with this being the third year they have come along.

Nick Stephenson, Get On Experience Co-ordinator said: " Get On will be offering free rides on a range of small capacity motorcycles and scooters throughout the show.

"Our team of instructors from our local training partner - BikeMoore - will be on hand to guide new riders through the first steps. Anyone over 16 years of age will be offered the chance to Get On and we can guarantee a great experience.

"Over the past 3 years thousands of people have gone on from this initial first taste to take up motorcycling as a result of the Get On campaign. Our Get On experience is an ideal way to build your confidence and it is almost guaranteed that after just a few minutes you will get the bug. Our professional team can then advise you as to where your nearest Get On training partner is and what you need to do next to get onto two wheels."
