When choosing a wedding ring, keep in mind that this is a piece of jewellery that you are going to be wearing for the rest of your life.
Therefore, here are a few tips to remember when selecting jewellers and a wedding ring:
Your personality. Your wedding ring should emphasize your personality and lifestyle.
Ask yourself questions such as; will you be wearing the ring everyday? Do you play any sort of sport regularly? Will you be allowed to wear it in your workplace? The answers to these questions will help you to decide the type of material and stones that you should have on your wedding ring.
Your Fiance/Fiancee. Before selecting jewellers and your wedding rings, talk to your partner about the style of ring you both would like to get. Decide on whether you want matching rings or not. Deciding on whether you want your rings to coordinate is purely a matter of taste. Some men feel that coordinated wedding rings are effeminate and therefore prefer getting separate rings.
Match it to the engagement ring. Since the engagement and wedding ring will be worn together, choosing a design that will complement the engagement ring will highlight the beauty of both the rings. If it is possible, when selecting jewellers go to the one who supplied your engagement ring. They may have the matching wedding ring as well.
Research. Go through as many brochures and catalogues as you can get your hands on, to get a good idea of the different designs and styles. Wedding rings now range from simple bands, to intricate designs with various precious stones.
When selecting jewellers, if you are not going to the same place where you got your engagement ring, then look for recommendations. It is always prudent to go to a well-known establishment that has a good reputation.
Price. Decide on how much you are willing to pay for the wedding ring before selecting jewellers to visit. This way, when you do go looking for your wedding ring, you can ask to be shown rings within a specific price range.
A wedding ring is a symbol of the never-ending love and commitment the two of you share; choose a ring that represents this, as this is one piece of jewellery you will treasure forever.
