Chance for Welsh to give back to their communities in 2021

Published: 27th January 2021 10:11

PEOPLE from Wales who would like to contribute to the areas where they live in 2021 are being invited to sign-up for a career in care (January 2021).

The award-winning Abacare has community-based carer vacancies available now that include training, career advancement and benefits.

Neil Griffiths, Regional Manager at Abacare, which provides care to the elderly and vulnerable in their own homes across Wales, said: “The services our carers provide are essential to anyone who is elderly and vulnerable. Those we assist may have physical disabilities, learning difficulties, spinal injuries, mental health difficulties, palliative care and complex neurological issues.

“It is important these people, who need extra support, are able to remain in their own homes. Our carers ensure this happens and assist them with living an independent lifestyle. This is even more important with the current ongoing pandemic.

“A career in care with us includes training, support and benefits. Our roles are flexible. We can offer work at weekends, in evenings and have both part and full-time vacancies available.

“Our carers are more vital than ever at the moment, as they are protecting the NHS by keeping people safely at home.”

Abacare operates a professional Care Management Team that is committed to providing high quality care to individuals in their own homes.

The large team of trained, specialist, care workers provide positive based outcomes and person-centred care to people throughout the UK.

Its core values, instilled into every staff member, include ‘make us proud’, ‘focus on our service users’ wellbeing’, ‘communicate, listen well and speak with respect’, ‘be passionate, honest, caring and considerate’, ‘recruit and develop the very best’ and ‘lead by example’.

It believes it offers inspiring work for inspirational people.

Neil added: “We are fighting against the current economic climate and are filling more positions than ever. This is a great opportunity for those looking for a completely new and exciting opportunity in 2021 to work in this very rewarding role. Being a carer is a really satisfying job and gives people the opportunity to create a worthwhile and long-term career for themselves.

“We give free uniforms and a national staff discount scheme for all major brands with exclusive discounts online and in-store from retailers including Tesco, Primark and Argos, and it also covers holidays and electrical goods. We have jobs available in Wales now with immediate start, no experience necessary, just a willingness to care and to learn.”

Anyone interested should contact their nearest branch and details of these can be found at https://abacare.org.uk/contact-us/. People can also find out more information about job vacancies at www.indeed.com/cmp/Abacare.
