Abacare’s new website helps Welsh find support and a career in care

AN AWARD-WINNING Welsh care provider has launched its new website for people looking for high quality care for themselves or loved ones and also for those seeking a career in care (September, 2019).
www.abacare.org.uk has been revamped for anyone interested in finding out more about the services it offers and how to apply for and the benefits of a life-long job with the organisation.
Peter Angelides, Managing Director at Abacare, which provides care across Wales, said: “We are committed to providing high quality care to individuals in their own homes and wanted to reflect this on our new website.
“The new site includes information on live-in care, domiciliary, home care and respite care and support available for people with dementia. It’s clear, modern and easy to navigate.
“We also have a news section so people can read all about that latest goings on in the company and we have a handy blog section, where people can get free advice on care and various conditions as well as tips on looking after anyone who is elderly or who has dementia. They can also read the latest news in the world of care and find help on eating healthily, ideas for activities to do and lots more.”
People looking to work as care assistants can also use the new website to find out about the latest jobs available at the company.
Peter added: “We have a dedicated section on the website aimed at people looking for care assistant jobs. They can find out more about what it’s like to work for us and provide live-in care in Wales and view our current vacancies as well as find out more about the training we offer and even apply online.
“We’re looking for kind, honest, caring and reliable individuals who wish to have a stable and long-term career in care, and who would like to forge rewarding relationships with the service users they care for.
“Being a carer is a highly skilled, professional vocational occupation that is essential to the fabric of our society and the beauty of a job for life means people can start by training with us and work their way up the career ladder gaining further training and qualifications. In today’s changing world of employment, we pride ourselves on being able to offer long-term job security and career prospects.
“Our free, full training includes a company induction, first aid, information on dementia, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users, with the opportunity to achieve Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) after the initial three months probationary period.
“New recruits are given free uniforms, access to national staff discount scheme for all major brands as well as 28 days paid holiday, paid travel between calls and paid mileage.”
