If you’re in need of a little extra cash because you’re a student, working part-time, or are a stay at home parent, there’s nothing better than making money from your own home. You can do it in your pyjamas and sometimes do little work for big monetary gains, especially once you establish yourself a bit, and you never know, it might evolve into a full-time profitable enterprise. If you want to get into the home business game, then here are some ways many people are making a lot of money from home.
There is a massive industry of freelance writers on the internet. Many of them make their money by churning out content for digital marketing agencies, which is a viable option, if not somewhat looked down upon by ‘serious writers’, but that’s because writers are snobbish by their very natures (yes, I’m including myself in that statement). Click for more information on digital marketing agencies to see if you’d be a good fit for their type of content needs. If you don’t think you’d fit with that line of work, then you can always try and become a professional blogger, even with your own blog, or being paid to write high-quality articles for massive online publications (or even print, but that’s a tough gig to get).
When Ebay was first founded it was a great way for people to buy other people’s stuff at great prices by bidding with fellow buyers. You could get priceless movie memorabilia for £20 or even a next to new TV for £100. The bargains that could be found were endless, and then the company started shifting. The bulk of the company still relies on people selling their stuff, but there has been an incredible increase in people actually running their own businesses, using Ebay as a platform. This article has loads of tips on how to actually pull it off, but it’s very interesting avenue to explore if you don’t have any skills (like writing of web design) you can sell online.
Arts and Crafts
There’s an increasing market out there for homemade goods. It doesn’t matter if they’re simple knick-knacks, home sewn pillows, printed t-shirts, jewellery, or 3D printed ornaments, people will hoover them up. Spend your free-time stitching, sewing, whittling, and carving and then pop off to your nearest craft and antique fair or car boot sale and practice your sales patter. You won’t probably make loads of money, but every little helps and it’s very worthwhile selling products you’ve made yourself directly to customers.
Bonus: Film Extras
This is best part-time job in the world. This work is sporadic, but depending on where you live, you can actually get quite a lot of work from it. I know it’s technically not working from home, but due to the nature of the work, it’s only ever every so often and you can stand to make quite a bit of money from it. Plus, it’s brilliant as you get to stare across a busy field at famous people.
